What Did Kamala Harris Know About Biden’s Decline?

The potential that Joe Biden could end his 2024 presidential re-election bid—and even resign from office—due to his declining cognitive state is raising new concerns regarding when senior White House aides and Vice President Kamala Harris became aware of his health issues. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are gearing up to investigate whether senior staff and Harris misled the American people about the 81-year-old president’s mental fitness.

In February, Harris criticized the Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel Robert Hur’s report that highlighted Biden’s cognitive struggles. “As a former prosecutor, the comments that were made by that prosecutor: gratuitous, inaccurate and inappropriate,” she stated, adding: “The way that the president’s demeanor in that report was characterized could not be more wrong on the facts, and clearly politically motivated.” The National Pulse examined Biden’s public schedule to assess how frequently he and Harris met, offering insights into how much Harris might have witnessed Biden’s cognitive decline. According to this schedule, Harris has attended meetings and events with Biden 417 times since February 2021.

In their first year in office, Biden and Harris met 200 times, averaging 17 meetings per month. In 2022, this number dropped to 96 meetings, with an average of eight per month. Last year, the two had a similar number of meetings, totaling 92. However, the number of meetings between Biden and Harris has sharply decreased in 2024, with an average of just five meetings per month.

The frequency of their interactions makes it implausible that Harris was unaware of Biden’s cognitive decline. Additionally, the sudden drop in the number of their meetings—starting in June 2023—suggests that Biden’s health may have significantly worsened around that time.

As these investigations unfold, the American public is left to wonder just how long senior White House aides and Vice President Harris have been aware of the president’s deteriorating mental state. The implications of these findings could be far-reaching, affecting not only Biden’s re-election bid but also the trustworthiness of those in his inner circle.
