In what will undoubtedly lead to another assault on the 2nd Amendment, the freedom-despising, gun-grabbing liberals in the federal government have declared so-called “gun violence” a public health crisis. U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy issued this alarmist proclamation on Tuesday.
Dr. Murthy has released a landmark advisory on firearm violence, claiming it to be a public health crisis in America. This is the first publication from the Office of the Surgeon General dedicated to this issue, outlining the supposed devastating and far-reaching consequences that firearm violence poses to the health and well-being of the country.
The report highlights a spike in gunshot victims since 2020. However, it conveniently omits the fact that this was the year Democrats unleashed violent groups like Antifa and BLM to wreak havoc in major cities. It also fails to mention that Democrats began freeing prisoners and passing no-bail laws, ensuring that criminals remained on the streets to continue their lawless behavior.
Liberals initially tried to push the narrative that guns were the leading cause of death among children in the U.S. When this misleading claim fell apart, they manipulated the statistics by including 18 and 19-year-olds and excluding infants who died before their first birthday. Additionally, they overlooked the fact that many of the teens involved in gun violence are gang members, whom leftist prosecutors, like Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, often refuse to prosecute.
The report also neglects to address the surge in drug overdose deaths among Americans aged 14-19, which skyrocketed by 94% from 2019 to 2020 during the lockdowns imposed by Democrat governors. According to Johns Hopkins University, the COVID-19 survivability rate in the U.S. is 98.9%, and potentially as high as 99.6% considering unreported asymptomatic cases. This context reveals the disproportionate response to the pandemic and the subsequent rise in overdose deaths.
The feds ignore that 54% of “gun deaths” in 2021 were suicides. Statistics also show that four times as many people died of overdoses in early 2021 compared to all murders combined, with most overdoses resulting from fentanyl crossing the open border under President Biden’s watch.
What have we learned? The left has manufactured a crime spree and now uses manipulated gun statistics to justify disarming law-abiding citizens. They knowingly sacrifice teens, primarily minorities involved in gangs, to achieve their goals, showing a blatant disregard for collateral damage.
Meanwhile, drugs continue to flood across the southern border, killing record numbers of Americans. Some might call the Biden Administration’s actions a form of mass murder, but the focus remains diverted to trivial matters. The left is willing to sacrifice kids to further their anti-gun agenda, ignoring drug deaths caused by their open-border policies. They manipulate data to fit their narrative and undermine the values that truly matter, like protecting the lives of children and maintaining national security.
