The gloves finally came off in South Carolina Tuesday night, as both 2020 presidential hopefuls along with the CBS moderators, totally lost control of the proceedings, as the seven candidates rudely shouted out, interrupted, spoke over one another, and at times attacked one another’s motives and character.
Moreover, throughout the two-hour slugfest, all seven took their turn in pandering to South Carolina’s all-important black vote, that will most likely decide the winner on Saturday.
California billionaire businessman Tom Steyer once again reiterated, if elected he would repatriate untold taxpayer funds to African Americans, because of slavery, while another billionaire on the debate stage chimed in stating that he would create 1 million new black-owned private homes by providing down-payment assistance, while also getting millions of African Americans recognized by credit scoring companies and enforcing fair lending laws and other economic programs specifically designed for African Americans.
Former Mayor Pete Buttigieg and Sanders got into a verbal tug-of-war shouting over one another regarding Bernie’s electability in the general election against President Trump, while a feisty Biden rattled off a slew of innocuous details, perhaps attempting to demonstrate to the audience, he was in control of his mental facilities, even attempting to indirectly tie Bernie to a mass shooting, for not voting for the Brady Gun Control Bill.
However, perhaps the biggest smack-down came from an agitated Senator Liz Warren, who attacked Michael Bloomberg for being sexist and funding GOP campaigns.
It was by all accounts a wild free-for-all, with each candidate taking a lot of incoming barbs. However, the biggest winner seemed once again to be Sanders, for being able to withstand the endless attacks concerning his Socialistic programs that would in effect bankrupt America, and for also doubling down in his defense of his political mentors, namely Fidel Castro, Mao Zedong along with Karl Marx.
