Joe Biden loses his senior Latina advisor after he reportedly failed to focus on Hispanic related issues on his campaign trail, according to the Pluralist. Vanessa Cardenas, who became Biden’s advisor in April, resigned as national coalitions director after growing frustrated over Biden’s failure to take heed to her advice on issues as they relate to Latino’s, in addition to failing to focus on immigration issues.
“The campaign is just hyper-focused on whites in Iowa and African-Americans and it placed less value on Latino outreach,” stated one source close to the campaign. Currently, Biden’s campaign continues to take a hit as many immigration activists protest over the Obama administration allowing three million deportations to take place during his entire presidency. In addition to protesting Biden’s speeches with loud “Three million deportations” chants, immigration activists also stormed Biden’s Philadelphia campaign headquarters demanding an apology for the deportations, which were found to be the highest number in United States history.
