Democrat challenger against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) and who will run against Amy McGrath in the Democratic Senate primary has been accused by the Kentucky Republican Party of accepting corporate donations, according to The Hill. The state GOP filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against Matt Jones, who serves as a radio host, when he used the platform to discuss his Senate campaign and when he booked tours through iHeartMedia and Simon & Schuster.
“iHeartMedia continues to syndicate KSR and subsidize Mr. Jones’ promotion of his candidacy and statewide campaign tour across Kentucky,” stated the Kentucky GOP in their complaint to the FEC. “Moreover, Mr. Jones’ ‘book tour’ and promotion of his forthcoming work is targeted directly at the relevant electorate, Kentucky voters,” the statement continued. The complaint states that Jones failed to report the expenditures to the FEC. Jones has not responded to the allegations
