The sun is shining bright, skies are blue, teenagers of every color, shape, and size are marching proudly in the streets throughout the nation, but our President is nowhere to be found. March 24th marked the day that young people stood up for their right to safety in a country that advocates the protection of the Constitution. The Right to Bear Arms is a significant protection of which the President has continued to shift his weight.
We may not all agree with the student protestors, some may even question the potential hidden agenda of the politicians and special interest groups who support the students’ efforts, but attacking them is not an option. No matter how naïve these students may be, no one can deny the spark of hope ignited by young people for a change.
This makes President Trump’s response to the march particularly tricky. He has the world watching as students unify their voices to say NO to the lack of regulations that exist on gun control. So while students marched in support of the Never Again movement, President Trump was at his Mar-a-Lago resort. Some may call it cowardly, yet others agree it was a lose-lose situation for the president. He could either support a movement he didn’t fully agree with or speak out against children. Apparently when in doubt… go golfing.
