Ford announced Tuesday that it is working with other companies to ramp up production of critical supplies for fighting coronavirus.
The automobile company said it is partnering with 3M to produce a new design for Powered Air-Purifying Respirators, masks for health care workers that purify the air. Ford said it is hoping to help 3M increase production “tenfold.”
The company is also partnering with GE Healthcare to produce ventilators, key machines that help seriously ill people breathe.
Ford said both the masks and ventilators could be produced in Ford facilities in addition to facilities from the other companies, to increase capacity. Read more…
