Phillip Williams filed a lawsuit against Burger King claiming that they were dishonest on the ingredients of their Impossible Burger and that the burger is coated in meat by-products, according to Yahoo Finance. “Williams assumed that an Impossible Whopper would satisfy his own particularly strict form of veganism…solely because he asked a Burger King restaurant employee to ‘hold the mayo,’” stated the fast-food giant.
“This claim has no basis,” Burger King continued. According to Williams, Burger King “duped” him into buying the Impossible Whopper at a premium price and is seeking damages on behalf of all United States consumers who bought it. “The Impossible Whopper was designed for meat-eaters who want to consume less animal protein, not for vegans or vegetarians,” stated a spokesperson for Impossible Foods, Inc. The lawsuit was claimed in a Miami federal court.
