House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) shared her lack of support and interest in the speech given by President Trump when she ripped a copy of his speech moments after he finished his State of the Union address, according to Fox News.
“It was the courteous thing to do considering the alternatives,” Pelosi said during an interview when asked why she ripped the speech in half. “I tore it up. I was trying to find one page with the truth on it. I couldn’t.” she continued. The actions of Pelosi sparked much debate and backlash from the public and members of the House. “Speaker Pelosi just ripped up: One of our last surviving Tuskegee Airmen. The survival of a child born at 21 weeks. A service member’s reunion with his family. That’s her legacy,” tweeted the White House moments after Pelosi ripped the speech in half.
