A 36-year-old Manhattan corporate lawyer known as “Daniel” makes $270,000 yet has adopted a life of suffrage for the sake of saving money for early retirement, according to the New York Post. To ensure he packs on a hefty savings, Daniel refuses to own a television, he only owns 5 suits, and he only eats rice and beans every day. “I don’t turn on the heat when it gets cold. I simply put on a bunch of layers,” Daniel said of his penny-pinching.
Thus far, the 36-year-old is on schedule of retiring in only a few years considering he has already saved over $400,000. “I’m excited and empowered to do what I’m doing,” Daniel stated. Although he’s on task, he admits that it has been an uphill battle. “There were some really hot days this summer, and I had to sew clothing that had become tattered,” Daniel admits.
