A new State Department report shows members of the United Nations are failing to support the interests of the U.S. in more than two-thirds of votes, according to Fox News. The report was made public and shared how the interest of the U.S. and the United Nations were only in shared agreement less than 32% of the time.
Although the congressionally mandated report shared information from 2018, it has led to concerns over whether the Trump administration will find support for initiatives that support their agenda. Former Ambassador to the United Nations stated in 2017 that the United States would be watchful of the countries financially supported by the U.S. that continued to vote against U.S. interests, particularly in regard to Israel. “This is not an acceptable return on our investment,” stated Nikki Haley who once served as the Ambassador to the United Nations.
