Political warfare is nothing new and we have all seen just how nasty things can get when there is something at stake. Although the conservatives are not innocent of blaming the left of foolery, it seems as if the mass of finger-pointing and nasty name-calling seems to always drift from the left side of things.
This tug-of-war between the left and right has now gone beyond the political arena and has found its way to fast-food chains. Chick-fil-A is one restaurant that has made a name for itself by hiring employees that are extremely nice and hardworking. Well, the fast-food chain is also known for denying millions of dollars by remaining closed on Sundays so that their employees can go to church and rest on “Gods” day.
The owners of the restaurant are Christians and they practice the Christian faith by following the words of the Bible. They also expect their employees to not only act accordingly, but they expect them to uphold the religious practices and beliefs of Christianity. This has led many to blame the fast-food chain of being bigots, especially since they refuse to support the LGBTQ community.
In this video, an independent group discusses how Chick-fil-A is faith-based and how they have been labeled bigots and racists simply because they refuse to change their faith-based practices. It appears that if you stand by your beliefs, regardless of how someone might feel about it, you can be labeled anything. We live in an era where ‘tolerance’ is the word that is consistently thrown around, yet it seems as if no one really knows what the word means. Being tolerant has a lot to do with merely accepting others and what they believe without judgment and ridicule. As it turns out, the left continues to prove themselves intolerant when they face anyone who believes anything that falls outside of their ideas, practices, or understanding. This is exactly how hundreds of women were burned alive during the Salem Witch Hunts many years ago when people killed women who practiced natural healing from the earth.
Today we have our own witch hunt occurring and no one seems to acknowledge this terrible situation. Are we so blinded that we only see what we want to see? If so, we will forever repeat the ills of our history—rather than overcoming them to become better people.
