Officer Timo Rosenthal shared a photo on Facebook of a burnt burger wrapped in paper that had a pig drawn on it by Burger King employees, according to Fox News. “Well, while on lunch break (and in uniform) I ordered food at Burger King and received this. The patties were burnt and the burger was of very poor quality. Guess that was the last time I ate at Burger King in Clovis, NM,” wrote Rosenthal as his caption for the photo of the wrapping with a pig drawn on the front.
A Burger King spokesman provided a statement to Fox News that served to both apologize and state their disdain for the incident. “What occurred is unacceptable and not in line with our brand values,” read the statement from Burger King’s spokesperson. “The restaurant owner immediately reached out to the officer-involved to apologize and terminated the team members involved,” the statement continued. Burger King then offered free meals to uniformed officers and provided a catered lunch to the police department.
