The state of Missouri has shut down all but one of their abortion clinics to effectively end legalized abortion, and this is causing a major fight to survive from its last standing clinic, according to CBS News.
Planned Parenthood is willing to go the extra mile to save their license in the wake of the law to illegalize abortion in the state of Missouri. “Missouri’s health department is refusing to renew our annual license to provide abortions in the state,” read a statement from Planned Parenthood.
If the license is not renewed, Missouri will become the first state without an abortion clinic since 1973’s ruling in Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion. To fight the closing of their doors forever, Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit to request a restraining order against the state in the hopes that they will have the ability to restore their license and avoid any disruption of their services. “We will sue the state in order to try to keep serving Missouri women,” the organization said in a statement.
